J&J Announces New Director of Operations and New Systems Support Coordinator

It gives us great pleasure to announce two internal promotions at J&J: our new Director of Operations – Heather Blasco, and our new Systems Support Services Coordinator – Emily Babcock.

Heather Blasco has been working for J&J since 2010 and in scholarly publishing since 2004. In her previous role, she was J&J’s Systems Support Services Coordinator, managing our projects that focused on peer review site builds and configurations. She has also directed her systems skills toward internal operations, as she constantly refines our processes involved in time tracking, productivity, and profitability. Prior to that, within J&J, she managed several editorial offices, including titles for ACS, BMJ, and ASTM. She brings a wealth of publishing experience, systems knowledge, and familiarity with J&J to her new role of Director of Operations. We are thrilled to see Heather take on the challenge of managing operations at J&J.

Emily Babcock has been promoted to fill the Systems Support Services Coordinator position previously held by Heather. Emily has been with J&J since 2011, and over the years, she has served as the Client Manager for the PLOS Community Journals, Endocrine Society, and Wolters Kluwer departments as well as a copyediting team manager. She continues to act as the Managing Editor for Advances in Neonatal Care and is one of our key personnel on Editorial Manager Systems Support projects with Wiley. Within J&J, she chairs the Professional Development Committee, which delivers opportunity and programming for our staff to advance their knowledge and careers. We are eager to see what she can do to expand and develop the Systems Support division even further and are so proud to see her take on this position.

Heather and Emily officially began their new roles on June 15th.
